Taming the Shrew… or at least your local O/6

(March 9) I took the boss to the CSH the other day for a dental check up. It was nice getting out of the office. I think she actually enjoyed it too even if it was a trip to the dentist. I think I’ve figured out the secret to managing her so she can better manage us. We are actually working very well together as a whole and being productive as a team. We even went out for dinner to a real Iraqi restaurant. The food was outstanding. I never realized how much I needed a break from the DFAC. It was like a real dinner outing. I almost forgot we were in a “war-zone.” This was just a normal night out with friends; real silverware and real plates. We even paid money. What an odd concept - Amazing. It was so much fun, as a matter of fact; she now wants to go on more “team building” field trips. More impressive still is she trusts us enough that she took half a day off for the first time since coming into theater (She’s been here a long time.) Things are finally settling in. Then I get the news. When she told me I am moving it hit me like ton of bricks. I got the job I spoke about earlier.

I am both excited and sad. It took a while but I actually figured out what my current boss wanted and needed to succeed. And I just got the schedule sorted for all of us to have one day a week off. Oh well… Needs of the Service - Next!

Return of Mr. CRM! - back on the air (again)…

We have a saying back home in Texas… If ya don’t like the weather… stick around a few minutes… It’ll change. Well that purdy much sums up my life here in Baghdad recently too. I apologize for not posting an entry for the past week but ya might say I’ve sorta been subjected to a change in the weather. It’s a bit of a yarn that I’m eager to share with ya’ll - full a’ the drama, intrigue and suspense of a Hollywood movie set in a war zone of the Middle East. Unfortunately, I’m sorta busy livin the story and not left with much time to write… So now I’m havin to make up for lost time. It’s a bit complicated by the fact that until yesterday, I didn’t even have a dedicated work space to sit much less enough computer time to set aside to write. Regardless I’ve had a bit of a transformation - mentally… physically… spiritually…
So I ask you sit a spell and have a bit of patience as I try to make up for a little lost time.

Goodies for Iraq

Hello all,
I'm putting together a package of goodies for Matt's cousin who is also stationed in Iraq (see blog post below). I currently have about 10 DVDs put together and I was planning on getting some chocolates for Easter. If you would like to pitch in some money, or have some WB/Disney goods, please let me know. I plan on sending this package by the end of the week on 3/16/07.

Thanks! mowie
